Are you ready to buy a house? Maybe you’re ready to move out on your own or you’re definitely ready to stop making your landlord richer, but are you ready to buy a house? Here are a few things to think about:

Are your finances in order? What is your debt to income ratio? Maybe you’re not even sure. Now is a good time to sit down with a lender. They will go over your current state and if need be, give you the steps you need to improve your situation.

Do you have enough saved up for the down payment and other costs associated with closing on a home? Your down payment is one fee, but there are other charges that go along with buying a home. You have inspections, closing costs, & moving costs are to name a few. And you’ll want to make sure there’s still some left in the bank for any unforeseen repairs that might come up.

Lastly, can you really afford the payment? You will want to consider more than just your mortgage. You need to add in property taxes, insurance, HOA, & utilities.
